This Omni*Hub spaceframe canopy at the Sumitomo Light Metals Chiba Plant is the second project of the Conservatek/SLM Joint Venture in the Japanese market. The 1.91 meter X 1.9 meter module spaceframe creates a 131’/40 meter X 46’/14 meter cover with a metal deck roof. The structure was assembled on the ground in two sections, each was clad and then lifted into place.

The six columns at the ends were part of the architectural statement desired to flow from the blue framing from the ground up to the spaceframe network above – almost symbolic of a group of tall, thin trees and the network of branches that they create. The royal blue color is a polyester powder coat.
